Lil Nas Xhas always had an eye for fashion. Ever since the release of “Old Town Road” in 2019, the musician has been making memorable style statements with every public appearance, concert and awards show.
Over the years,Lil Nas X’s fashionhad gone from understated to bold. Before he came out as gay in June 2019, he opted for less eye-grabbing looks to avoid anyone questioning his sexuality. As he explained toCR Menin October 2020, “I didn’t want to draw any attention. I didn’t want any red flags.” The “Montero” artist has since developed his signature style, often sporting colorful western wear with detailed patterns and embellishments.

All eyes were on Lil Nas X as he made his way down the VMAs red carpet in August 2022. The singer wore adramatic ensemblethat included a black furry-feathered hoop skirt and an elaborate headpiece. The over-the-top look was courtesy of Harris Reed from the designer’s London Fashion Week presentation in February 2022.
“This is heavy and it is Harris Reed,” Lil Nas X said on red carpet. “It’s something fresh, something new, I feel amazing.”
