James Frey , the author infamous for his not - quite - factual memoir A Million Little Pieces , just landed a $ 2 million quite a little with Fox for the movie right to his coming young adult novel , Endgame . But how is Google involve in this Hunger Games - esque project ?
Deadlinereports that Fox nabbed the Endgame film right for somewhere in the vicinity of $ 2 million . Here ’s the slant :
In a world standardized to Earth , there are 12 bloodlines , or subspecies . Each bloodline has a friend between the historic period of 13 and 17 who is trained as a warrior and is always quick to do battle . When they turn 18 , the teen warrior behind them gets promoted . Frey ’s last foray into YA science fiction wasI am Number Fourand its subsequence , which was based on an idea by Frey and seemed like it was begging to be turned into a flick — which it was . The feature article film version of I am Number Four was n’t well received , but give that Frey has seemed intent onchurning out Hollywood - friendly booksthrough his Full Fathom Five product society , it ’s not surprising that he ’s launching another book serial publication intended for the silver screen . Butas the LA Times take down , many folks are already accusing Frey of cynically piggyback on the success of Suzanne Collins ’ Hunger Games franchise , with those warriors from 12 bloodlines too closely evoking the combat Tributes from Collins ’ 12 Districts .
