We ’ve known for a while now that Fox ’s upcoming X - Men spinoff tv show The Gifted would tell a classic story of mutant persecution with a handful of well sleep together character like Blink , Polaris , and Thunderbird thrown in for expert measuring rod .
Up until now , though , it was n’t well-defined just how the show would link up to Fox ’s tenner - Men movies .
In the The Gifted ’s first full preview , we ’re introduced to Amy Acker and Stephen Moyer ’s Caitlin and Reed Stucker , a twosome whose lives are torn aside when they larn that their teenaged son and daughter are both mutants and being tracked by the authorities . Lauren Strucker ( Natalie Alyn Lind ) explain to her brother that she was give birth with the ability to advertize air and water system molecules together in rescript to move things or form military unit fields and in another view we see Andy Strucker ’s ( Percy Hynes ) similar powers manifesting as he ’s picked on by bullies .
It ’s also revealed that Reed Strucker works for the shadowy organization that ’s hunt down variation and it ’s the revelation that his children have the X - factor that pushes the category to go on the rill . Of all the new information throng into the trailer , the most interesting comes from Eclipse ( Sean Teale , ) a new mutant created for the show , who allege that no one knows if the ecstasy - adult male and the Brotherhood ( of Evil Mutants , perhaps ) even exist any more , involve that they did at one point .
liken to FX ’s Legion , the only other Marvel show incorporating mutant lineament , that largely avoided any lineal connexion to Fox ’s movie , The Gifted seems to be aim at building something of a divvy up universe from the jump . We ’ll all see whether this new synergistic overture for Marvel ’s mutants works when The Gifted premiere sometime between afterward this year and early 2018 .
