The curt answer is , we do n’t have it off . Facebook’sTim Sparapanimade the pledge yesterday on Kojo Nnamdi’spublic radio show , but did n’t put up any sorting of significant detail :
“ We are go to be provide options for users who need simplistic bands of privacy that they can opt from and I recall we will see that in the next couple of workweek . ”
So it sounds as though a user will be able to indicate a general degree of privacy they ’d be happy with instead of muck about withthe 170 + secrecy optionsthat make it incredibly difficult to know who can get at your entropy , and how much .

That seems like a ok start , but it also could create even more problems for those who want to keep some information ( pic , employment ) secret but do n’t mind sharing other ( human relationship , interests ) detail .
And it also does n’t really speak the root of the problem : currently , Facebook ’s privacy policy requires you almost exclusivelyto opt out of sharing information . Unless the “ simplistic ” choice defaults to keep your personal life personal , it ’s still too complicated . [ wire ]
