Renée Zellwegermay have heard a cheeky rumor aboutBridget JonescostarHugh Grant, but she’s passing the baton to him to confirm or deny!
While looking back at some of her notable career looks in a Jan. 15 interview withBritishVogue, the actress, 55, examined the wardrobe of perhaps her most iconic character, Bridget Jones — and revealed that Grant, 64, may still have a (slightly NSFW) piece from it.
When presented with one of Jones’ iconic looks — her “tarts and vicars” party ensemble from the first flick in the franchise,Bridget Jones’s Diary— Zellweger said, “Oh, Bridget. Goodness, that costume made me laugh out loud.”

Like Zellweger, Grant has also reprised hisBridget Jonesrole — flirtatious commitment-phobe Daniel Cleaver — since starring in the initial 2001 rom-com, in which he pursues Jones and, during their first hook-up, memorably describes her underwear as “absolutely enormous.”
And the iconic underpants (which Jones herself calls “scary, stomach-holding-in pants, very popular with grannies") may have gone with Grant after filming wrapped, Zellweger went on to tell BritishVogue.

“I heard some rumor that Hugh Grant kept the pants — the big pants — but I don’t know if that’s true,” she said before cheekily adding, “We’ll have to ask him.”

So theHereticstar was ecstatic when he was offered to return inMad About the Boy.“I loved the script — it made me cry, and I wanted to help with this one,” he explained. “But really there’s no part for Daniel Cleaver in it at all. They wanted him in it, and in the end, they’d done something I wasn’t crazy about.”
So, he did something about it, writing new scenes for Cleaver which ultimately made the final cut. And though he’s “not in a lot,” he stillbelieves it’s the bestBridget Jonesfilm yet, tellingVanity Fairthat, “when you see the film, you’ll be very moved.”
