Speaking to io9ahead ofChucky‘s net season three episode — what we now hump areChucky‘s final episode , full stop — Mancini suppose he was in “ very early days of talks ” to make anotherChild ’s Playmovie , something sports fan have been dreaming of since the 2019 reboot , which did not involve Mancini or the distinctive outspoken stylings of Brad Dourif ( sorry , Mark Hamill , but you should n’t have ) . Mancini ’s last Chucky moving picture was 2017’sCult of Chucky ; the TV show premiere in 2021 .
“ [ A new movie would be an ] exciting , exciting enterprise , ” Mancini told io9 earlier this year . “ I go for we ’re going to get another time of year of the show as well . I mean , I recollect both [ the movie and the show ] can happen and they can both coexist in there . My plan is to have it all make sense in terms of the persistence and the overall mythology of the world we ’re construct ; we wo n’t contradict anything . ”
When ask if a new movie would carry on the plot of the boob tube show , Mancini said , “ Or it could be , if we get a time of year four , we find fault up those story togs . And wherever we end up forget off season four , that the movie could take over . I ca n’t say too much because there ’s actually an even trickier way that it work out that make it kind of cool . I eff you have to take that with a huge grain of table salt come from me . It ’s like I ca n’t say anything , but it ’s really awful . ”
With no season four in the works , here ’s hoping that movie musical theme is still coming alone . TheDeadlinearticle linked in Mancini ’s tweet apportion a statement from the Godhead : “ I ’m heartbroken over the news thatChuckywon’t be coming back for a quaternary season , but am so thankful for the slayer three years we did have .
