But where was the public lecture of a big - screen movie of Captain Power And The Soldiers Of The Future , that authoritative post - apocalyptic boob tube show ? Where ? What kind of a mankind is this ! Just crack out this awful battle between a human resistance attack aircraft and his robot oppressors . ( Sample dialogue : “ A company ? And I ’m the guest of honour ? ” ) And then snap through to see more of just how multi - superimposed the world of Captain Power could be . Here are a few select moments from the installment “ A Fire In The Dark , ” written by Teen Titans scribe Marv Wolfman . ( Most of the sequence were written by Babylon 5 architect J. Michael Straczynski . ) It ’s passably heavy stuff . Before he was the malefic cyborg drawing card of a machine empire , using golem soldiers and CG mecha - birds to “ digitize ” human , Lord Dread was just a regular guy wire , Lyman Taggart . And his chief squeeze was Jessica , an creative person who was accidentally dim by a CG mecha - bird . ( And he scream “ Nooooooo ! ” and his scream wield to dissolve across a 15 - year gap into his present , as a cyborg lord of evil . ) Now , 15 class afterwards , Lord Dread is frustrated because his perfect machine world “ miss suppleness , ” and he needs Jessica to be his arrant architect . So he pressure Captain Power into contribute her to him , so he can heal her sight . But once her sight is restored , she ’s horrified by the rubble - strewn populace he ’s created . “ The man is in transition , ” Lord Dread protests . ( How many times have we pick up that one ? ) Oh , and I have a special seat in my heart for Captain Power ’s gold codpiece , as seen in the second cartridge clip . Who could play Captain Power ? Matt Damon ? Daniel Craig ? It ’s hard to imagine a big movie worker who could carry off that codpiece .
