While attending the “Love ActuallyLive” opening night atThe Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Artsin Beverly Hills, California, earlier this week, Bruce’s daughter,Rumer Willis, spoke exclusively with PEOPLE about her father’s breakout television series,Moonlighting.
Noting that she personally is “so excited” that the show is now streaming onHulu, Rumer, 35, said of her family’s reaction, “We were ecstatic, beyond ecstatic, because we used to watch it literally on videotape.”
“My dad had a closet and all of the episodes were literally filled to the brim on videotape,” she added. “And so to be able to have time and not have to hunt for it on YouTube and be able to watch it all the time is such a joy.”

Alongside Bruce, 68, as Detective David Addison, the show also starred Cybill Shepherd as Madolyn “Maddie” Hayes, Allyce Beasley as Agnes DiPesto and Curtis Armstrong as Herbert Viola.The series followed the cases of a former model (Shepherd) and a detective (Bruce) who manage a private detective agency.Throughout the course of its 67-episode run,Moonlightingwon numerous Golden Globes Awards, People’s Choice Awards and Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. It also scored a single Emmy Award in 1987, when Bruce won in the outstanding lead actor in a drama series category.
