On Sunday and Monday, Sandler and Hayek Pinault, both 57, shared moments from their 2010 comedyGrown UpsonInstagramas they remembered Musser after his death at 50.
“I loved this guy. Cannot believe he is gone. Such a wonderful, funny good man,” Sandler wrote on Instagram, alongside a still photo of Musser inGrown Ups. “Thinking of Alec Musser and his family and sending all my love. A true great sweetheart of a person.”
Hayek Pinault, who played Sandler’s character’s wife inGrown Ups, shared the scene in question to herInstagrampage Monday “in loving memory of Alec Musser.”
“He was so kind professional and absolutely hillarious,” Hayek Pinault wrote of Musser. “His early departure breaks my heart. I feel so blessed that I got to meet him.”
“My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones for this great loss. 🖤,” she added.

Press responded to Sandler’s post in a comment Saturday, in which she thanked Sandler for taking the time to honor Musser’s memory. “He spoke so highly of you and I know working on [Grown Ups] was one of the best times of his life,” she wrote in a comment. “My heart is so broken 💔”

Grown Upsfollows a group of childhood friends (Sandler, Kevin James, David Spade, Chris Rock and Rob Schneider) who reunite with their families after their youth basketball coach’s death. Musser appeared to enjoy reminiscing about his time working on the movie. Heshared videos on Instagramshowing moments from his scene in the filmmultiple timesin the last year. “THANK YOU @paramountnetwork for ‘keeping the scene alive!’ 😆👙,” he wrote in a caption alongside a clip from the movie in April 2023.
