The Sedgwick County Zoowill soon be expanding its animal family with multiple new additions.
Earlier this week, the Wichita, Kansas-based destination announced in apost on Facebookthat four of its elephants are currently pregnant.
“We’re announcing some trunk-tastic news!” the zoo wrote. “Sedgwick County Zoo is expecting not one, not two, but FOUR new additions to our elephant family!”
“Stay tuned for updates as their pregnancies evolve and remember that similar to pregnancies in humans, there are inherent risks during the early stages,” the organization added. “We maintain a cautious optimism and eagerly anticipate sharing updates along this journey.”

The zoo previously teased the animals' exciting pregnancy news in another post, sharing an image of each of the fruits before the animals in their enclosure. “We’ve got BIG news! Can anyone guess what each of these fruits represents?!” the establishmentwrotein the caption.

African elephants, which are the largest living land animals, have the longest pregnancy of any living mammal, according to thezoo.
The animals — which are around 260 pounds at birth, can grow to be 5,000 to 14,000 pounds and live for 30 to 55 years — are typically pregnant for an average of 22 months.
